The Helios Ensemble, directed by Benedict Williams, was founded in 2014. It specialises in performing works from the 17th & 18th Centuries on period instruments. Fast gaining a reputation for its innovative programming they have delighted audiences explored such diverse repertoire as the cantatas and chamber music of Jean- Philippe Rameau and Marin Marais, and with a German programme the Stylus Fantasticus of Dietrich Buxtehude, Johann Rosenmüller, & Johann Adam Reincken.
The individual players of the Helios ensemble can be found regularly performing with some of the leading baroque ensemble in the UK, including OAE, AAM & The Monteverdi Choir & Orchestra; and the ensemble has performed in venues such as Snape, King’s College Cambridge, & St. George’s Bloomsbury.
