Gerbrich Meijer
Clarinet
Gerbrich Meijer, originally from the Netherlands, is an internationally active chamber musician, soloist and orchestral player. Recently her debut album for AVRO TROS was released. Gerbrich won with her interdisciplinary 'One Woman Show' the Audience award of of Dutch Classical Talent 2024. Was nominee of the Grachtenfestival Award 2022 and recipient of the 'Special Prize' at the Carl Nielsen International Competition 2022. Currently pursuing her Soloist Class Degree at the Royal Danish Academy of Music. Gerbrich is a recent graduate for the Master of Music degree at the esteemed Colburn Conservatory of Music in Los Angeles, where she studied with Professor Yehuda Gilad.
She is a frequent guest at symphony orchestras like the Londen Symphony Orchestra, The Concertgebouw Orchestra, Danish Radio, Rotterdam Philharmonic and Finnish Radio among others. Her three year summer attendance at the Music Academy of the West ('20/'21/'22) is a highlight and fuel point of her creative development.
In 2022 Gerbrich was soloist with among others Camerata Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra. Previously, Gerbrich studied with John Kruse at the Royal Danish Academy of Music in Copenhagen where she graduated with the highest distinction. For two years Gerbrich served as the principal clarinet of the European Union Youth Orchestra. For 2025 one of the season highlights is her solo debut with the Radio Orchestra in the Concertgebouw Amsterdam.
